As Death Doulas it’s our job to support people in having the best possible death for themselves under the circumstances. Societally we tend to think very grandiose about this like go to the Louvre and die in front of our favorite painting, but sometimes it comes down to something very simple, like having somebody matching your breathing as it slows down at the end of your life.
What if all Death Doulas were well versed in things like breath work or using Flower Essences also known as Death Medicines? What if we were able to use recipes with Essential Oils or know Music Thanatology? Or learn energy work like appropriately clearing our energy and working with the energy in the room? Or something like Psychedelics when it becomes available.
There are a lot of opportunities for creating the best possible death that don’t always look like the BIG things, but rather they could be very, very, very simple. What are the simple elements of the best possible death for you?
Thank you for giving me a minute of your life to think about the end of it.💜🙏🏿⏳
