Corie McMillan (they/them)

Going with Grace Student Development Manager
End of Life Training Program Facilitator
End of Life Training Program Graduate April 2020
End of Life Training Program Student Guide January 2021, April 2021

Corie McMillan is a deathworker and the Student Development Manager for Going with Grace. Their work is rooted in deep care for students, a commitment to community, and the belief that education should not only inform but also transform. Corie is passionate about holding space for folks, living and dreaming radically, advocating for the liberation of all beings and continuously learning with a beginner’s mind.  They are here for the big questions, the silent reflections, the grief and the joy—always with a dose of levity, a deep love of life and more likely than not some teary eyes and grandpa jokes sprinkled in.

A Queer, Transcendgender person with ancestral roots in Scotland and Ireland, Corie is a lover of music and graffiti and meditation and Redwood trees.  They reside on unceded Lisjan Ohlone land in Huchiun, also known as Oakland, California, with their spouse and 2 cats, an abundance of plants as well as many raccoons, opossums, hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, bees and a cute little skunk that keeps the outside of their home buzzing with LIFE and DEATH.
