Yesterday, I was running all of my errands – grocery shopping, bills, laundry, dishes (BLEHH!) And while I was doing the dishes I was daydreaming about a very recent time when I was slow dancing and watching the sun go down on the beach and felt so alive, feeling like YESS THIS IS IT!
Dishes are not so much it, but while I was doing them a quote from a story in Buddhism popped in my head and it goes like this, “Alas! The living are few, but the dead are many.” Whoa.
Out of all hundred and something billion people that have lived and died, only 7 billion are currently living. Which means living is the short part. Living is the interesting part. Living is the rare part. Grocery shopping and bills, while kind of mundane, are the juicy part!
The only other option is to be dead, which is coming anyways so we may as well make it as juicy as possible while we’re here. (Even while we are going through our sock drawer, ugghhhh.)
Thank you so much for giving me a minute of your life to think about the end of it.
