When you are healthy would you say that you inherently trust your body? Most of us trust our bodies to do what they need to do. We trust the heart to beat and the lungs to bring in air. We trust that we can heal cuts and produce antibodies to heal us when we get sick. We trust our bodies to turn us on (hubbahubba) and to turn us off to sleep. We trust it to alert us when there is danger and to tell us who we should and should not be spending time with. When we eat food, we trust the body to produce enzymes to break it down, to take what the body needs, and to eliminate the rest. Amongst a million other things, we trust our bodies to sweat (even though highly inconvenient at times) because of temperature regulation. 💦💦

How many times during this video did you trust your heart to beat for you? Will you trust your body when it says it can no longer? Can you trust your body when it says it is time to die?

For those with chronic illness this can be a tricky question particularly because some functions of the body are not to be trusted because of the illness. In the big picture, there are millions of little functions happening that happen without our intervention (and with our implicit trust) which are part of the body machine. At some point, even with all the medicines and interventions, the body reaches a point when it will decide that it is done.

As always and FOREVER, thank you for giving me a minute of your life to think about the end of it 💜🙏🏿
