DEAR DEATH DOULA
Guidance, Reflection, and Real Ass Conversations About Life and Death with Death Doula Alua Arthur
What must I do to be at peace with myself so that I may live presently and die gracefully?
This question sits at the heart of Alua Arthur’s work and Going with Grace’s mission. For years, she has guided thousands of people to more deeply explore their relationship with their mortality—spreading a transformative message: thinking about your death—whether imminent or not—will breathe wild, new potential into your life.
In these intimate 45-minute one on one sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to connect directly with Alua for compassionate conversation, practical support, and soulful inquiry around death, dying, the business of dying, and how living in relationship with your mortality can bring you deeper into your life.
Every day you live is an opportunity to get closer to the life you want. These sessions will support you in getting there.
WHAT TO EXPECT
These intimate 45-minute sessions are a space for truth, curiosity, and care. They invite you to explore the full scope of your humanity - your dreams, body, emotions, anxiety, relationships, fears, end of life plans, and life as a whole.

Together, You and Alua May Explore:
- How to prepare for your own death or support someone you love who is dying
- Navigating fear, grief, or uncertainty about death and dying
- Finding a renewed sense of purpose and joy in life through the lens of death
- Integrating a relationship with your mortality into your daily life
- Guidance on becoming – or deepening – your practice as a death doula
Every session is unique, guided by where you are presently in life from the perspective of your eventual death.

Who Are These Sessions For?
You don’t need to be at the end of life to have these conversations. In fact, we don’t recommend waiting until then.
You may be drawn to a 1:1 session with Alua if you are:
- A person seeking deeper peace with your mortality
- Someone traversing alongside a dying loved one
- In a dying process of your own
- A death doula or caregiver seeking mentorship or perspective
- A human simply curious about how awareness of death can deepen your relationship to life

Who Are These Sessions NOT For?
These sessions are held as spaces for reflection, guidance, and meaningful conversation. While deep emotions and practical questions often arise, they are not intended to replace therapy, medical care, or legal counsel. Alua is not a licensed therapist, and these conversations should not be considered mental health treatment, crisis intervention, or professional medical or legal counsel. They may not be the right fit if you’re seeking diagnosis, clinical intervention, or prescriptive answers.
Instead, these sessions are meant to offer guidance, reflection, and honest conversation—a supportive space to explore life, death, and meaning with care, curiosity, and humanity.
Enter into a space where you can ask the questions you’ve been holding, explore your life and mortality with honesty, and deepen your understanding of what it means to live fully and die gracefully – just you, your story, and the space you need – held with care by Alua.
Spaces are limited each month and often fill quickly. Answer the invitation when it feels right. You never know what awaits you.
